Statement
In the creative process, I try to interpret the connection between symbolism, everyday culture, and their evaluation.
The focus is on both the visual language of the works and the materiality and the craftsmanship involved.
Starting from individual visual worlds, my work has increasingly developed towards a figurative narrative style.
Color, shape, and material function as carriers of meaning, through which stories and spaces of association unfold.
Screen printing forms the basis for a multifaceted exploration of image and meaning. Techniques such as quilting and free-motion embroidery with a sewing machine structure the surfaces. The manual intervention thus becomes an essential component of the artistic expression.
The works in the "Extras" series move between visual symbolism and collective ideas. They are dedicated to observing and interpreting the forms of expression people have in their activities and behaviors.
